Fan coils — select and supply Fan coils · 08

Fan coils are zone cooling (and heating) terminals. Aurum Prodest selects ducted, cassette and wall models on noise and pressure, ships labelled by room and ties them to chiller hydraulics so far rooms are not starved of water.

Ducted coils need duct static; cassettes need a ceiling; wall units when there is no ceiling. Meeting-room noise is its own line, not “same as the corridor”. Two-pipe vs four-pipe depends on whether wings need heat and cool at once.

About the service

Ducted coils need duct static; cassettes need a ceiling; wall units when there is no ceiling. Meeting-room noise is its own line, not “same as the corridor”. Two-pipe vs four-pipe depends on whether wings need heat and cool at once.

Valves, stats and condensate pumps sit in the spec. Labels by room so 300 and 600 are not swapped on one floor. Supervision of drains and vents on branches.

Commissioning with hydraulics: balance and setpoints. Factory warranty if start-up was clean. Ducts to ducted coils come from our shop when we install.

We do not sell random fan coils “with no water”. Without a chiller and pumps it is a mystery heater-fan of an unknown circuit.

Service: filters, trays, valves. Tower contracts keep a fleet alive instead of waiting for July complaints.

Brands

In climate equipment supply we compare service life, parts, and line depth — pros and cons by class.

Trane Premium Industrial premium for large plants Heavier budget and lead times
Carrier Mid-range Capacity, standards, and price in balance Not always premium quiet/comfort
York Mid-range Proven mid/industrial for typical loads Narrower than premium flagships
Systemair Mid-range Easy AHU integration and kits Less “chiller weight” than HVAC giants

FAQ

Is a fan coil an air conditioner?

A water terminal. The chiller (or boiler) makes the energy. It is not a split.

Why noisy?

High fan, dirty filter, wrong ducted static. We fix the cause, not random wool.

Replace splits with FCUs?

Only if a water circuit appears. That is a building project, not hanging new boxes.

Cassette FCU vs cassette split?

Different energy. They look similar; the pipework does not.

Lead time?

Stock / factory — in the quote.

Do you install?

Yes as a system. Supply-only for main contractors.
