About the service

Losses from glass and height. A convector under a curtain wall cuts the cold downdraught — classic retail. Electric where there is no heating water; hydronic on a boiler or district circuit with pressure and temperature agreed.

Trench convectors: channel, grille, service, condensate if used for cooling (a different product). Wall units are simpler. Do not floor-length drape the grille.

Commission: vent hydronic, protect electric. Do not blow AHU supply against a cashier’s legs. Escape routes — no projecting cabinet without agreement.

5-year workmanship. Service: hydronic wash, electric elements. Ballu, Thermex, Timberk and engineered ranges — to the job, not only domestic.

A shop-floor convector at the dock is not a curtain or supply heater. We write that in the brief instead of mixing three products.

Hydronic on a multi-storey district system?

Only with agreed parameters. No cowboy tees.

Noisy?

Natural convection is quieter than fan units. Fan units heat faster and make more noise.

Bathrooms?

By IP and wet-room rules. Not every domestic casing.
